gCube Core Facilities

gCube Core facilities are dedicated to provide its users with a range of services for the operation and management of the whole infrastructure. This page collects the specifications related to the three key-areas of the facilities.

Data e-Infrastructure Management Facilities

Data e-Infrastructure management facilities promote the optimal exploitation of the resources available in the e-Infrastructure and the integration of technology external to the e-Infrastructure. They insulate as much as possible the management of the e-Infrastructure from the data and the data management services that are hosted in or accessible through the infrastructure itself. See this article for detailed information.

Data e-Infrastructure Policy-oriented Security Facilities

The goal of Data e-Infrastructure Policy-oriented Security Facilities is to protect gCube infrastructure resources from unauthorized accesses. The facilities, composing a complete security module, are built on SOA3. See this article for detailed information.

Workflow Management Facilities

The gCube system exposes its Workflow Management capabilities through its PE2ng component, a process execution engine. PE2ng is a system to manage the execution of software elements in a distributed infrastructure under the coordination of a composite plan that defines the data dependencies among its actors. See this article for detailed information.
