Service-orientation is used to provide a common abstraction to hardware, information in its multiple forms, and even applications as shareable resources.

gCube is a service-oriented framework enabling for the creation and interconnection of e-Infrastructures in a controlled and highly configurable manner. gCube provides groups of users with a personalised view of the shared resources, the Virtual Research Environment, and the capability to generate new knowledge.
